Editor-in-Chief: Professor Adam Smoliński

Journal of Sustainable Mining (ISSN 2300-3960) is an international, scholarly, peer-reviewed and open access journal. This journal casts a new light on the wide range of issues surrounding mining that are impacting its sustainability. It brings together wide-ranging approaches, globally, in order to develop a forum for discussion of mining practices, always with an eye towards their impact on sustainability and efficiency. Journal of Sustainable Mining is published quarterly online by Central Mining Institute (Główny Instytut Górnictwa) and Elsevier, Digital Commons who is responsible for the production and hosting.

  • The content of Journal of Sustainable Mining is free for readers. Central Mining Institute acts in accordance with the guidelines of Plan S and publish articles under the licence CC BY 4.0. Open access is fully funded by Central Mining Institute, the authors do not pay Article Processing Charges.
  • Journal of Sustainable Mining is indexed in Web of Science, Scopus and other databases. Articles published in Journal of Sustainable Mining are internationally recognized and cited. Citation metrics: Impact Factor (JCR 2022): 1.0; CiteScore 2022: 4.9; SJR 2022: 0.502; SNIP 2022: 0.955.
