Article Processing Charges (APC) - Terms and Conditions
1. Payment Information 1.1. APC covers the costs of Journal of Sustainable Mining’s peer review administration, copyediting, typesetting, online hosting, and long-term archiving. 1.2. To safeguard the independence of editorial decisions, APC becomes payable only upon acceptance following peer review. 1.3. APC amount is 1700 PLN or 400 EUR. 1.4. Authors submitting manuscripts are governed by the APC Policy version effective on the submission date, including the applicable Article Processing Charge amount. 1.5. Local taxes (e.g. VAT) may be added to the APC where required by applicable laws in the author’s country or region. 1.6. The obligation to pay arises once the manuscript has been accepted for publication by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated Associate Editor. 1.7 The invoice may be issued to: – the author (if the ordering party and payer is a natural person); – an institution or organization (if the ordering party and payer is a legal entity or other organization). 1.8. The person or organization named on the invoice is responsible for ensuring that all amounts due under the invoice are completed in a timely manner. 1.9. The editorial decision to accept a manuscript is based solely on scientific merit and is completely independent of fee payment. However, the final production and online publication of the accepted manuscript will only proceed once the Article Processing Charge has been received in full. Failure to complete payment within the time indicated on the invoice will delay the final publication of the article.
2. Payment processing 2.1. Upon acceptance of the manuscript for publication and confirmation of the order terms by the author or the funding institution, the publisher shall issue and send an pro forma invoice to the e-mail address indicated in the order confirmation. 2.2. Payment shall be made on the basis of the received pro forma invoice, within the deadline specified therein, by bank transfer to the bank account indicated in the document. 2.3. The date of payment shall be deemed to be the date on which the publisher’s bank account is credited with the full amount due. 2.4. Upon receipt of payment, the Publisher shall issue and deliver an invoice confirming the payment, in accordance with the invoicing regulations applicable in the Publisher’s country.
3. Ethical Oversight and Dispute Resolution 3.1. Journal of Sustainable Mining requires comprehensive Conflict of Interest statements for all authors, reviewers, and editors, effective immediately for all new submissions. 3.2. Manuscripts submitted or authored by reviewers, Associate Editors, or Editorial Board members of Journal of Sustainable Mining are handled by independent editors, and the submitting individual or the author is excluded from the editorial process. 3.3. In cases of dispute, the Journal of Sutainable Mining follows the guidelines of Committee on Publication Ethics. 4. Amendments and Entry into Force 4.1. The Journal of Sustainable Mining reserves the right to amend this APC Policy at any time. Any amendments shall apply prospectively and shall not affect submissions received before the effective date of the amended version. 4.2. The present APC Policy becomes effective as of 17st August 2026.
